planted by a squirrel

I bought a house over the summer.  Between our house and the neighbor’s house, a pumpkin vine grew.  Apparently nobody actually planted it—our neighbor speculates that perhaps a squirrel did it by accident.  Regardless, the long tentacle-like vines seem to have a stranglehold over our driveway .  There are dozens of blossoms, lots of tiny pumpkin babies and one good sized pumpkin on the vine.  Come October, we should have quite the harvest.

Make sure to leave a pumpkin for the squirrel who planted the seed! I am sure she’ll be back to claim it, and hopefully spread more seeds around to create more serendipitous gardens!

    What a fun story.
