Just a quick note to recommend a new favorite album of mine.  It’s by a Louisville band called The Invaders, and the title is “Floating.”  I picked it up after seeing them play a really great in-store show on July 4th at Ear X-Tacy.

If you are a fan of bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, or a lot of those Elephant 6 bands, then that might give you an idea of what this record is similar to.   Very loud and intense, but sometimes light and floaty, melodic, fuzzy.  I dunno- The Invaders have really created a unique sound of their own that’s kind of hard to put into words.  The members of this band are all very talented musicians and have been playing in different bands around town for awhile now: Joe Meredith (the Merediths), Amber Estes (Liberation Prophecy, Sandpaper Dolls), JC Denison (Lucky Pineapple.) I predict that the Invaders are really gonna be Louisville’s next big thing.  They certainly deserve to be.
